The creation of this CIT contributes to a new concept of a qualified Tourist Information network with modern equipment and structures. As this municipality holds two World Heritage Sites classified by UNESCO, the Alto Douro Wine Region and the Côa Valley Rock Art Sites, the new CIT presents itself as a service of excellence, diversified, based on an integrating logic, with a view to improve the offer and characteristics of the "Tourist Offices" of the Porto and North Region, in general, and of the Douro Destination, in particular.
