In August 2011, the Youth Festival of the Gustavo Filipe Youth Association was born in Vila Nova de Foz Côa. This festival aims to boost the youth association movement in the country and, at a time of strong political changes for youth, an event was developed that proves to be not only a space for fun, but also for debate and culture. In 2013, the Gustavo Filipe Youth Association, in partnership with the Municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, the Federation of Youth Associations of the District of Guarda and the National Federation of Youth Associations, revolutionized the concept of a youth festival and gave birth to Côa Summer Fest.
Since then, Côa Summer Fest has grown annually. A festival that is much more than music and that seeks to promote what the interior has to offer. An event where big names in Portuguese music have already passed, such as DAMA, Richie Campbell, Piruka, HMB, Blaya, among others. In the year 2023, Côa Summer Fest celebrates the 11th Edition.
